Zarraffa’s Coffee was founded in 1996 by Kenton and Rachel Campbell. The company is proudly 100% Australian owned with its head office based on the Gold Coast.
Zarraffa’s (pronounced Za-raff-as) comes from the Arabic word ‘Zarafa‘ which means ‘Giraffe’ and the Masai Giraffe typically inhabits the savannahs of Kenya and Ethiopia, the origin of coffee.
From a single store in Southport on the Gold Coast, the Zarraffa’s Coffee business has evolved into an award-winning enterprise, now serving customers in over 85 locations across Queensland, Western Australia and New South Wales.
The predominantly franchised stores are made up of traditional shopping centre and strip mall locations, with a significant focus moving forward on opening convenient drive thru sites.
The company's major markets include the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Western Australia and regional Queensland including Toowoomba, Sunshine Coast, Bundaberg, Hervey Bay, Rockhampton, Townsville and Cairns. From 2017, franchise opportunities have opened up significantly across New South Wales, Western Australia, Victoria and potentially New Zealand.
